I have 69 yr old woman ...bilateral plantar fasciitis, L>>R.

a left night-time AFO ... also has followed exercise modalities

Since receiving the foot orthoses and AFO her condition has not worsened
but continues to cause typical plantar fasciitis pain. I'm contemplating a
UCBL foot orthosis for better calcaneal control at this point.

Does anybody have any further suggestions?>>

Cameron-
Yes I do.
I am a prosthetist--not an orthotist...although I was training in both
disciplines.
I am also an above knee amputee who also has suffered from plantar fasciitis
(in my good foot, of course!)

I tried all the orthotic means of solving the problem, including a night
splint (which rairly saw morning on my leg...) with quite unsatisfactory
reuslts.

My solution was accupressure...! There are two pressure sites on either side
of your ankle about a thumbs width below each maleolus. These sites can be
easily compressed at the same time by pinching between opposed thumb and
middle fingers. Pressure is gradually applied over a count of ten then
gradually released over a count of ten. This is repeated several times and
whenever the pain becomes troublesome. And it works like a champ! All I
wear now is a good supportive insole incorporating a Springlite carbon fiber
shoe insole beneath it.

If you care to try this I can fax or eMail actual references. Don't get me
wrong... I'm no new age whacko type--I was just looking for personal
relief...and found it!
