Title:
more responses to "ankles for bilateral amputees?"
Text:
Here in Pakistan we have provided prostheses to bilateral.
1. Below knee 11 patients. Five were given exoskeletal with SACH feet. Age
varied from 25 to 65. Remaining were fitted with endoskeletal (O.Bock) but
SACH feet.
2. Above knee 5 patients. Three were given modular endoskeletal and rest
were exoskeletal. All were given SACH feet.
The reason of providing SACH feet was the stability. Two young men were
given ankle feet initially but they were afraid and delayed the balancing,
hence they were replaced with SACH. The old age group is difficult to be
convinced for the outcome if we provide ankle feet as the keep vibrating.
