This is good news,Ronney and Bob! Now all that is left is negotiating what determines qualified providers!
How about suggesting quidelines with those standards set by the independent organization CAAHEP, with reasonable grandfathering provisions for ABC and BOC practitioners??
FOR THE RECORD, contact Eva Cargill at Congressman's Wexlers office, to formally announce AOPA's and the National O&P office's decision and unilateral suport to finalize the content of the bill.Together, let's attempt to head off the O&P coverage cutbacks proposed by Congress!!
I tend to believe that the legislative O&P steering committee may have more faith in Wexler's ability to get this needed and effective legislation thru Congress than they did a year ago!
I look forward to working with you in that direction! Once standards are in place via federal legislation, I'll help in any way I can to assist in achieving proper coverages for O&P services.HICFA and Congress may be more receptive to the consumer and the professional educating them as to what constitutes proper coverages!Tony
