Each of the three constituent organizations (ABC, the Academy and AOPA)
have dedicated staff that work specifically on their organization's
activities. ABC has a staff of 8; the Academy 5; and AOPA 9. In addition,
2 people work for NCOPE and one for the Athletic Fund. The National
Service Office has 19 staff members that provide services to the
constituent organizations, and 3 positions are outsourced.
AOPA principal programs that provide member contact are: Government
Relations (including legislative and regulatory lobbying, the Policy Forum
and the O&P Legislative Action Network); Reimbursement Services (provides
individual phone consultations, Coding Seminars, Electronic Illustrated
Guide, and Coding Committee recommendations); and Member Services
(including a wide range of publications, our biweekly fax newsletter AOPA
In Advance, the AOPA National Assembly, the website). In addition, AOPA
will be resuming the publication of the O&P Almanac in October.
