My thanks to all who contributed to my search for hip-dis. casting
techniques. The articles in the 1988 Clinical O&P were the best and a
great reference. It turned out this patient has a very small pelvis with
little ramus to contain, but the socket design info helped greatly.
Thanks to all!

BTW isn't there someone out there in a field with similarities to ours
who has dealt with this consolidation question successfully who might be
able to give us some retrospective insight? Are we forced to invent this
wheel by ourselves or am I just oversimplifying the question?
Personally, after reading all of the email and comments in the Almanac
etc, I am beginning to think that we need to separate the organizations
even further so their respective visions, budgets, objectives don't get
so intermingled and diluted.
Along with AOPA, AAOP, ABC and NCOPE, perhaps what is needed is a branch
that represents only the consumer. Then all lobbying forces would be
coordinated between the groups, which would give a more balanced push for
what will ultimately affect the consumer the most.

Just a thought from a political neophyte.
