Hi All
In the New Orleans meeting Lisa Schoonmaker asked, Show me the money. I
didn't hear a clear answer to that question. Please outline the saving. If
the savings are so great why not a breakdown of these savings. I'm sick and
tried of the Evolution answer.
I have a question
Will Consolidation change the 500 million dollars in reduction to O&P from
Medicare? Will Consolidation reduce the dues we pay by 500 million. NO, I
don't think so. So instead of worrying about Consolidation, maybe we should
learn how to make a profit at this reduction, with better outcomes the
patients.
Boys and Girls the Fed hammer is going to hit us, so get ready.
My Eli's Rehab Report states;
Therapist Salary Cuts And Lower Labor Cost Among Challenges Ahead in 1999
Therapy salaries are in a free fall and the rehab industry must adapt
quickly to PPS just to survive. Page 222
SNF PPS Threatens Existence of Contract Therapy Business The contract
therapy business will shrink by a third under PPS. Page 224
HealthSouth Corp stock down -36.7 in 1998
Sun Healthcare Group -66.9
Olsten Corp -51.2
NovaCare -79.0
Only one the rehab companies went up 10%
My last point is that I'm getting ready for the price cuts in Medicare. The
Feds want to be the lowest price (they deserve it!) when you cut non Fed
fees than the Feds turn around and want another cut. That's what we have
gotten. We can start crying when we loose 20% of our businesses
That's all for now.
