I think the dialog on this subject so for has been great and I am happy to
see so many of our most respected colleagues taking time to address this
issue.

I have read many comments for and against consolidation. My main concern,
or rather question, is whether we should consolidate or separate the
organizations. It would appear that the Academy, AOPA, and ABC have very
different roles in our profession and perhaps should not all be housed
under the same roof.

I know that separation of the three entities could be costly but has
anyone even looked at moving one or more of the organizations into their
own independent facilities. I would think that a facility and staff could
be acquired at a reasonable cost some where outside of the DC metro area.

I have been around this industry for over thirty years and I have seen
many issues appear, and most have been resolved in the best interest of the
industry. But maybe the concept of putting all the marbles in one bag is
out dated. I respect the decision of our past officials to try and save
money and duplication of effort by combining resources. And maybe
separating the three groups could be too costly. However I would like to
know if this has even been looked into and if so what are the pros and
cons. I realize this might be very costly but a total reorganization is not
going to be cheap either.

I would like to hear some comments on this.
