Joe,
I received my advances copy of the draft bylaws and other information
yesterday. According to David J's cover letter the information and the
draft are to be released this weekend. (if there are no problem) In the
mean time go to the Feb 1st O&P Business News on-line page (through
oandp.com) for an interview of the Presidents, and the Academy homepage for
Bill's report.
On your question on bylaw votes. Both AOPA and Academy require a mailing
of proposed bylaw changes 30 days prior to the Business meeting and a 2/3
pass rate. But remember the vote in the fall would be to desolve the
current organization and roll them into the new one. It would have nothing
to do with any new bylaws. Of course the reality is if people don't like
the new organization's bylaws, they would vote to keep the old one.
Since very few people have seen the draft bylaws for the new AAOP, I will
save my comments about them until later.
