My experience with oils is limited but has not generally been good. It
is hard to get the right amount on. Too much, and the liner will
migrate. Migration leads to that feeling of too much suction on the
distal end. No problem to those who don't mind that, I suppose.

My oddball preference for a thin layer (yes, you can put on too much) of
Vaseline has in part been due to Vaseline enhancing tack, so the liner
stays put on the skin. The thin layer mainly protects my skin from
drying and skin reactions. Another reason for the preference is pure
simplicity. I use Vaseline on my hands several times a day, and use it
on my face when I hop out of the shower to prevent that radical drying
that often takes place immediately after a shower. Perhaps that's why I
look 35 though I'm 42? Not bad for a feller with all these missing
pieces!

It's nice that one substance works so well for many things. I have never
had any problems with Vaseline with either Alpha or silicone-base liners.
