Thanks to all who so helpfully responded to my question about how to tackle
a noisy Flex Foot. Unfortunately, an efficient other user of this terminal
managed to wipe all of my file from this folder before I had a chance to
disseminate the info that I received AND a whole lot more.
To summarise, most suggested the tried and true methods of fixing such a
squeak, none of which worked in this case; I eliminated the socket
lamination as the source and as I had said, the cosmetic shell was not the
source. I managed to quieten the annoyance by dipping the whole foot in an
acrylic sealing resin, which makes me think that the source was probably a
delamination of the foot itself. This is obviously a temporary fix, so I
will replace the foot with a new one. An interesting and educative
exercise.
BTW did anyone read the journal article which I sent to the list last week?
Did it prove interesting to anyone? Is there any constructive criticism?
Thanks again, Richard Ziegeler
