Orthotic management for brachial plexus injury in a 7 week old infant.
Does anyone have experience with this age group? Orthotic design?
Functional results? Is orthotic treatment practical for the family?
Thankyou,

Brad--
Sorry, don't have too much to suggest other than one might hope that the
rapidly growing cells of an infant would result in re-innervating
themselves...
I have had very good luck with modifications to the Stanmore Flail Arm
orthosis for adults. Once the child is able to walk independently, it might
be a good time to fit something somewhat functional like this... after all,
this seems to be the best time to fit a child with an arm prosthesis...
good luck...........JTA
