Just a note of thanks for all the responses to my inquiry about funding
for a moderate income patient, with HMO coverage.
I passed all the information along, and will keep everyone posted per her
progress.
She was very grateful to all.
I did post a response previously, but have not received any mail since.
I'm not sure if my first response was lost in cyber-space or not.
I did send a second inquiry that I would appreciate any input on. I have
had two patients over the past several years, who had developed a rather
offensive odor to their trans-tibial prosthesis. It is not related to
hygiene, as they are both very aware of hygiene protocols. They are both
in their 20's, one moderate, one extremely active. One was male, one
female. One from NY, one from Tx. The differences between the
individual's outweighs the similarities in most
comparisons.
The male patient utilizes a hard socket, with a 5-ply fit. The female
utilizes a pelite liner, with a sheath fit.
Any know Dx for such a condition? Any recommendations to reduce and/or
eliminate the presence of such odors?
Thanks,
Mike M.
