Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry. I was looking for info on
supplemental coverage sources for a low to moderate income patient. Her
HMO coverage does not adequately provide coverage per her prosthetic
needs.

The majority of the respondents directed mr to the state vocational rehab
program. This is an option we had already begun to explore, thanks for
the confirmation.

I did receive the address of the Limbs for Life Foundation, and will pass
that along:
                120 N. Robinson, Suite1913
                Oklahoma City, OK 73102
                1-888-235-5462
                FAX 405-235-5472

Judie, Angel with Flaming Wings, she utilizes a 2-ply acrylic/lycra soft
sock, medium/regular. Thanks for the offer, I'll pass it along to her.

Thanks to all who responded.

INQUIRY # 2:

Within the past two years, I have had two trans-tibial patients who have
exhibited an extremely offensive odor within the prosthesis shortly after
it's delivery/utilization. It is not a hygiene issue, as both are very
aware and attentive to that issue. Both are in their 20's, one was male,
one female. Both were active, one much more than the other. One wore
prosthetic socks, 5-ply fit. One was a sheath fit (per her request). I
have other patients, with comparable systems, and comparable levels of
activity, who have no such issue's.

Any similar experiences? Is there a medical Dx/pathology related to this
phenomenon? Any magic bullets, other than the constant wash, change
regime of the typical user?

Thanks, Mike M.
