Fellow Listmembers:
OK after some serious thought, I think it is about time we got this animal
in motion.
I have made the first step in creating the (working name) Amputee Coalition
on Canada or Amps-Can. This small first step is to create a web page and
create a raison d'etre for the organisation.
The WEB Page can be found at <URL Redacted>
Its all a bit vague right now, but I'm hoping things will start to become
clear over the summer.
There is a draft of a WHITE PAPER summary linked to the ampscan.html page.
I would like some feedback on this document from anyone and everyone. This
docusment will eventually be circulated to organisations anconcerned
individuals to gain support and credibility in roder to secure some federal
funding to get things rolling.
I'm also looking for some warm bodies to lend their name to a first board
of directors. BOD members must be amputees with access to email. If you are
willing to let your name stand as the preliminary BOD please let me know.
Ideally I would like get a good cross section of gender, income,
geographical location, age etc.
I also need to know of other support groups, other than the ones in
Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton and Toronto, that you might know of or be a
part of. Names, telephone numbers etc would be nice.
Its all still in the primary stages right now nothing is etched in stone.
But we do need to get things off the ground and I need some help to do that.
Thanks
