Dear Colleagues,
This is the response to Dome Paste question
<<
 Pat,

The rigid dressing used by Dundee Limb Fitting Centre, Scotland, is a 4 inch
elasticated plaster of Paris bandage known as Ruhrstern Elastik. The
supplier
 is:

 Paul Danz & Co
 Ruhrtaler Verbandstoff Fabrik 5802
 Wetter 4
 Postfach
 Germany

Dundee use this very succesfully. The rigid dressing technique (using this
dressing) is currently being evaluated in Scotland via a RCT. Currently
around
70 patients have been entered into the trial although we expect to require at
least twice this number before we can start analysis.

I'm also told (I'm not a medic or prosthetist) that a standard 4 inch plaster
of
Paris bandage such as Gypsona can be used succesfully if the elasticated
version
 is not available.

 I hope this is useful.

 Regards,
