Hi readers,
My name is Marcus Wood, I am a 25 year old Prosthetist/Orthotist
with 3 years experience working in the field. Since graduating from La
Trobe University with a Bachelor of Applied Science
(Prosthetics/Orthotics), I worked as an Orthotist at the New Children's
Hospital, Sydney, for 10 months. Currently, I work at he Queen Elizabeth
Centre, Ballarat, Victoria.
In June of this year 1998, I will be travelling to the U.K. on a working
holiday. It is my intention, when possible, to gain some experience in
Prosthetics and Orthotics whilst I am in the U.K. I have worked with
pediatrics, adults and geriatrics. In 1996, I completed Christopher
Hoytt's Ischial Containment Course at La Trobe Universtiy and have since
used the socket design with many transfemoral amputees. In addition, I
am familiar with both ICEX and ICEROSS casting/fitting techniques.
I have no set travel agenda, it is extremely flexible and likely to
depend upon any employment opportunities. I hope to hear from anyone who
can assist me with my endevours. Please send rely to :
