Text:

I called Association Travel the one on the flyer enclosed with the AAOP
registration package advertising Discounted Rates Have Been Negotiated For
This Event! Set-up a tentative flight reservation with them. Later found by
calling the airline direct or using another travel agency I was able to get
same flight at a better price. Is there still some law on the books about
false adverting?

Made some other calls and ended up with a ticket almost $100 less then quoted
from the airline or the other travel agent.

Still working on a room and have a tentative reservation already made with a
known hotel chain for under $100.

I would like to request that the Academy Board of Directors review this matter
to see if the National Office Meeting Staff can be a bit more sensitive to the
needs of the independent practitioner, smaller O&P facilities, and smaller
suppliers. It is important with private symposiums taxing the resources in the
O&P industry that the independent practitioner be also afforded the
opportunity to receive the same high quality of continuing education.
