Tonight Capt Don Zielke asked me the question,
What's this got to do with P & O!
I thought to myself, how many others on the OandP list might be asking the
same question?
So here are some links that explain what landmines have to do with
prosthetists and amputees....
The Prosthetics Outreach Foundation is a humanitarian org. based in Seattle
that provides prosthetics to amputees in the developing world.

Some of you maybe already familiar with this organisation founded by Dr
Ernest Burgess in Seattle. This will give you an idea of what some
prosthetists are doing to help those less fortunate in mine-infested
nations.
Their excellent CD-ROM also highlights how prosthetists are working with
amputee populations places like Bosnia, Angola and Cambodia. I think it is
available for $10 or so.
I kinda took it for granted that most prosthetists knew that landmines made
amputees, apparently not.
