I work with several orthopedists and neurosurgeons who do two level cervical
fusions. We have typically used SOMI orthoses following surgery for 8-12
weeks. The SOMI is worn at all times, and most patients hate them,
especially at night. Most complaints are related to the shoulder pieces
resting on their already painful trapezius and pressure from the occipital
piece when supine. Is anyone using any other orthosis that is better
tolerated and can be showered in?
Thanks for your input!
