Coyote Prosthetics has been watching the COVID-19 situation closely, both here in the US and abroad. And like many of you we have already limited our operations and staff. Due to the rapidly increasing number of cases and deaths worldwide, and the rapid spread of the virus throughout the United States, we have made the tough decision to cease operations as of the end of business this Thursday, March 19 through April 6 to allow our patients and staff to quarantine. This decision was made in an effort to both protect them and to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community. Shipment of replacement parts from our product division, and delivery or adjustments of devices by our patient care division will be be completed for critical or urgent cases only.
We are encouraging our customers, distributors, vendors, and competitors to do the same so that we can avoid the fate that other countries are now facing—a wide-spreading virus, overrun healthcare infrastructures, and full economic shutdowns that will last for many months.
Together we can reverse this spread, but we must take swift and aggressive action now, and stop pretending it’s “business as usual.” We also need to stop pretending this virus is no big deal. Make no mistake—this is a deadly virus, especially for those in high risk categories. For those of us who are not at such high risk, we need to do what we can to reduce risk of exposure to vulnerable populations.
Thank you for your understanding. We do apologize for the inconvenience caused. However, the long-term health and safety of our staff, families, patients, customers, neighbors, and fellow Americans far outweighs any short- term sales and profit. Stay home, and stay safe. We will get through this together.
Sincerely,
Matt Perkins
