Happy New Year to the O&P Community,
I’m writing to you to ask you to consider volunteering for a task force with the goal of creating curricular guidelines for entry level doctoral of physical therapy students. This will be a year long project, with regular online meetings, to write up what we hope will be a huge step forward in entry level physical therapy education - including interprofessionalism.
This task force will not be comprised of only PT Faculty. From the start I have made it clear that the task force would not be successful unless as many stakeholders as possible would be included, clearly this includes prosthetists and their faculty.
My research in this areas of PT faculty perception of student competence demonstrate wide variability in teaching methods, content, and finally competence. Therefore, my hope is that through our work we can improve not only the quality of our inter professional interactions, quality of both of our educational content, but most importantly the quality of our health care.
Please find a description fo the task force included, and here is a link< <URL Redacted> > to sign-up (you’ll need to “Create an Account” as a first time user, takes less than 5 minutes to do). Of course, please pass this on widely and let me know if you have any follow-up. The deadline to sign-up is 1/31/2020, so plan to hear from me shortly following that.
Sincerely,
Toran
