A colleague and I are interesting in hearing how prosthetists and technicians are doing their bench and static alignments. ie
- Center of rotation of socket bisecting foot (or point manufacture specs define)
- Boney landmark through center of foot (ASIS, lateral patella)
- LASAR posture
We were taught to use the center of rotation style but find that many practitioners seem to have their own twist on this. We had a recent graduate from Europe as a summer student who was taught to use the LASAR posture for every static alignment. On the other hand our LASAR posture was historically used as a door stop, not an alignment tool.
What were you taught as a student vs. what do you do now? Any good tricks you have come across?
If there is interest in hearing the responses I will pass them on.
