Dear List:
I have not done this before and I need your advice. The attorney agreed to
my fee and the hearing is supposed to happen some time in January. My
question is what is customary - request the full fee in advance, say 7-10
days before the hearing and have some sort of agreed upon schedule of
refunds should there be a settlement before the hearing date; for example,
if canceled within 3 days of hearing, I retain $1000; in canceled within 24
hours - no refund. Is this reasonable? Or predatory? What is normally done?
After all, I clear up the entire day of work, etc. Thank you in advance.
Stephan
