Thank you everyone who replied. This gives me a few more leads that I
hadn't tracked down yet.
*Question:*
Does anyone know of a source for pediatric sized black filler socks
(preferably 2 ply)? Knit Rite and Royal Knit have black socks, but I don't
think either make socks small enough for a congenital 7 year old.
*Answers:*
Knit RiTe socks, AFO socks, are very narrow. they are basically Lycra
and stretch a lot, but the starting width is very narrow. You might get
away with them. Definitely do X-static materiel, silver in it great.
I've ended up dying pediatric socks with cheap dye from drug mart years
ago. I'd imagine it still works worst case.
If you're unable to find a supplier for black socks, I would recommend
having the patient purchase some black RIT dye from walmart etc. Simple to
place the socks with they dye in the washing machine, and boom, black
socks. The dye holds well.
Knitw rite child afo socks should do it
Try Hi-Tech.
Try comfort.com
Double check with Royal Knit, they make some pretty small socks. You can
trim them for length and they won't unravel.

I don't know if they are going to come in 2 ply but this might be an
option.
I do a lot of ped's I often use afo socks in black. They are seamless and
very much like a soft sock. They come in very small and narrow
Check with Royal Knit directly, they can custom make to size, if I
remember correctly not a significant cost.
You could try Comfort. They have a PEDS line.
You could consider arm socks, but I don't know if they have those in black.
The knit rite hugger socks are great. They have narrow which has worked for
the kiddos
