Hello list serv,
So I know as a profession we have gone round and round on what really is documentation needed for prosthesis. Last I had confirmed was it really comes down to the wording of all points in dear physician letter being in physician note and note signing off on a practitioner note.
Who is actually following this versus not wanting to bother physicians these days? I assume everyone is playing by the same rules which Medicare laid out yet I have people/competitors who are accepting doctor signatures on their practitioner notes, this then leaves some physicians offices being annoyed by actually having to do what they are supposed to which is put the points in their visit note.
I was just curious peoples take on getting the paperwork these days and the battle of wanting the proper documentation for audits but also not annoying physicians.
I’m sure we all are trying to find the good short cuts and I would love to just get doctors to sign off on our notes, we all would, but what are people doing and feeling comfortable with these days.
Yay paperwork and regulations that don’t make sense in the real world!
