Polio KAFO

Requesting your help to find an Orthotist with experience in
neuromuscular or polio bracing. My urgent need is to replace my right
KAFO that was severely bent by an overly exuberant technician and not
repairable. I had polio in 1956 and have worn bi-lateral bracing since
that time.

Current Bracing - Otto bock single action ankle joints, off set knee
joints, estimate 5 degrees extension, uprights and polypropylene
calf/thigh cuffs. Data from recent computerized gait analysis available.
Willing to consider other bracing ideas.

_ABC O & P Failed Right KAFO (2 independent shops and attempts with a
nationwide shop)._ Problems encountered:

Locking my knee out of extension

Tilting me too forward

Failing to include 5 degrees at knee which I believe is extension. Jig?

Rotating foot, ankle, knee externally even up to 12 degrees

Medial upright set in neutral or reverse position with lateral upright
in a forward position

Medial knee joint length higher than lateral side

Unable to cut rear high ankle stirrup to match existing brace

Residence Central California and able to travel; looking forward to your
response and posts.
