MASTECTOMY FITTER Pre-Cert / CE COURSE
DATE: April 5, 2019 WHERE: O&P Technology Program Spokane, Washington
A mastectomy fitter pre-certification/continuing education course, including fitting, adjusting, or modifying devices, is offered by the O&P Technology Programs at SFCC. The course is designed for new mastectomy fitters or as a review course for experienced fitters, and approved for 8 hours of CME credits by the ABC and for 9.25 CEU credits by the BOC.
Topics included in the one-day course are described on the agenda and include anatomy and physiology, terminology, measurement tools and techniques, forms and care, scope of practice, ethical standards, roles and responsibilities, referral documents and medical records, reimbursement protocols, safety procedures, risk management, fit of prostheses, evaluation of data, development of treatment plans, patient management and education, and federal and state rules and regulations. The course will be taught by Victoria Ferro, CFM with 15 years clinical experience.
Registration Fee: $120 (includes morning and afternoon refreshments and parking pass)
