Hello, my name is Gabriel Crochet and I am a Junior in High School in North
Carolina. I am currently enrolled in the AP Research Capstone program,
choosing from any topic to research and study for which I have to conduct
some of my own research.
My project is dealing with the prosthetic field, specifically in the
aesthetic and psychological implications of prosthesis on amputees. I have
formed a hypothesis based on the research I have uncovered in my findings,
predicting that the category/reason of amputation (trauma, cancer,
infection etc.) will affect the perception of an amputee when considering a
prosthetic device.
I have created this survey in adaptation of a previous study that used
different variables (Culture, Gender, and Amputee/Non-amputee comparison).
I've been assisted by biomedical students at NC State and have been
recommended by the VA to use this messaging system to gather patient
recipients for my survey.
*This survey is to collect Amputee only recipients residing in the United
States of America. If this survey is of any interest to you and can be
legally distributed to recipients use the link that follows. The estimated
time to complete is 25-30 minutes. *

The implications of this project involve expanding the field of
psychological study within the prosthesis field.
