Hi all,
I have seen over the years people writing is asking for recommendations for dictation services. I have had a service company named Athreon providing that service but have decided to terminate this arrangement since my staff has never really adopted their model. We have tried over the past 4 years to make a go of it but again my staff just didn’t care for the platform. They offered to re-educate and give the staff a refresher but as I told them after 4 years my staff is versed on the model but just could not embrace it.
I contacted them to file a formal termination letter to the agreement, but they are now stating that this letter is needed for them process the termination and that it requires a 90 day notice for the termination to occur. This 90 day lead time carries me over to the re-start of another year extension and they are not willing to waive that even though I have paid the minimum ($200/month) with no loss of money to them. So now I am stuck for another year in their contract which I can either continue to pay $200/month or buy out the contract at $2,400.
I’ve had my practice nearly 15 years now and understand contractual agreements, but this is absurd. I am not here to bad mouth them; rather, to educate any others looking to do business with them to be leery of their contractual requirements. If considering them please be vigilant to your start and end dates with them as they are not willing to overlook that even though their services were not utilized nor are they out anything ni the way of having dedicated staff for each individual account. Good luck to all.
