Thank you all! I have received many responses, and many asked me to share.
Question was: If we can bill Medicare and other payors for “office visit” or “follow up”.

1- Many of you said that “NO”; “evaluation” “fitting” “follow up” and “adjustments” are all included in fee schedule. Some said that there is a code for repair (specially for prostheses)

2- Some said that they are doing all for free as a complimentary.

3- Some charge patient office visit, and if patient wants to move forward and get any orthosis/prosthesis, they deduct the amount from their deductible/co-insurance.

4- Some said that if we have OT or PT as staff, we may charge office visit.

AND:

5- Few said that “We should be able”: like other health care providers, we are spending 30-60 minutes for the patient, listening to their complaint, evaluating them, and provide them with the treatment plan, and finally they decide not to get anything, so we SHOULD be able to bill payor/patient office visit.

Summery:
As of now, legally, we can not bill payor for office visit. We may bill patient. BUT looks like most of O&P providers don’t bill patient JUST for competition.

Thanks again everybody.
