Text:

We would like to commend the industry organizations AOPA, AAOP, NAAOP, BOC,
ABC, NCOPE, OPGA and all other National O&P Organizations for their rapid
responses to our profession's harassment matters. As we discovered at a
recent meeting in a discussion panel, harassment in our field is a much
larger issue than we imagined, and we formed a harassment workgroup as a
result. We believe the best defense against harassment is prevention. Though
we are certain that we will not be able to prevent all harassment, we hope
that with the combined efforts from the industry organizations, we can
provide more education and safe environments for industry professionals to
minimize and potentially prevent current and future harassment in the
workplace. By doing this, we create a more professional work environment
that will allow clinicians and all staff to thrive and create better care
for our patients. We are grateful to have our industry organizations so
diligently working on this matter to back us in our cause. Together we look
forward to improving the O&P work environments.
