Origianal post: I have a K-1 AK pt who weighs 310 lbs. I'm looking for a knee and foot, seems everything is rated up to 275 or 300 lbs. Any recommendations for 325 or higher?

Thanks to all who responded.

Most responses were for K-3 components (like TiMed). My pt is a K-1.

I ordered OttoBock 3R17 single axis knee, K-1, rated 330 lbs, and OttoBock 1D10 foot, K-2, rated 330 lbs.

Kingsley has K-1 SACH feet that meet the weight requirement.

Here are some of the responses:

SPS has a bariatric catalog.

<URL Redacted> has options that exceed 400lbs. Good luck!

Please see links below to a Kingsley foot & Timed knee, both rated to 500 lbs. & are what we have found to be lowest K level bariatric components available.

If you use Empire Medical for your ordering, they would find the exact foot you need for you. It's amazing and saves my practice so much time and money!

I work for LegWorks, which makes a product called the All-Terrain Knee Premium, which can handle K1-K4 patients, with a weight limit of 330 lbs.

While it has unique swing and stance phase technologies (mechanical in nature), the only feature of real use in your case is the manual lock, which is a twist knob located anteriorly on the knee (no lanyards/screws etc). The patient can sit by either switching off the manual lock, loading the prosthetic toe and flexing the hip, or by sitting with the knee in locked (extended) mode and then pushing with their hands on the front cover of the knee to initiate flexion. The lock can be engaged while seated or when standing.

The knee is corrosion resistant as well, which for more active people has applications for use in the ocean, but also is beneficial for low activity patients with incontinence issues.

While this product has more features than you need, I thought it worth mentioning because of the weight limit and simple lock operation.

When faced with similar situations in the past, I have been able to work directly with Otto Bock to receive the weight rating I needed by committing to Bock-only componentry. They were willing to increase the weight limits of their individual components in cases where they weren't having to rely on other mfr's components in the design mix. I once built a Bock-only device from the floor up and got a trans-femoral prosthesis rated to 360 lbs.. That was quite a while ago and I don't know if they still do this, but it's worth a try.

NOTE: I inquired about this, but it is no longer an option.
