I have a Bilateral BKA patient with some cognitive issues whom continually
walks with out prostheses on their knees around the home. They have
complications of DM-II and Dialysis. They have well fitting prostheses,
however, cognition results in walking on knees as well as constant battling
of callouses and ulcerations.
Does anyone have devices that allow for easy donning and knee walking.
I Have tried liners only, she still goes back to skin.
Carpentry knee pads may work, but may not be best option.
Any outside the box ideas would be great.
Thank you in advance.
