Hello,
I have a new prosthetic patient who has a prescription from a Naturopathic
Doctor (ND). In Washington state, NDs are recognized as primary care
physicians but have limited prescription powers. My company's policies
mention prescriptions from MDs, DOs, PA-Cs, and ARNPs but not NDs.
Has anyone been able to provide a prosthesis (or orthosis) for a patient
who was referred by an ND? The patient has Aetna, is this a question I
should ask of the insurance company?
Thanks for any help,
Chas Hoppe, CPO
